How I got invited to the #Oscars

K, before we begin this post - you all need to listen to this song. It sets the tone ... headphones ready???

Loves it. I'm listening to it as I write this too ... bah!

Alrite, so here's what just went down.

Yesterday, on my way back from the gym, I saw this tweet:

I met Zennie at CES earlier this year through my dear friend Marla, who BTW, I met at the #140Conf the day that I started this blessed little website. He's a big blogger/ vlogger and we had a rad chat and talked nerdy ... of course at that point follows and friending happened ... and life went on.

BLESS SOCIAL MEDIA THOUGH, that we all can stay so incredibly intertwined. He needed someone to help him out with Oscar coverage for his site, and because of all the stuff he saw me doing over here - he asked if I'd be interested in helping him.

Yes, did I add that part? I'm actually getting paid to attend the Oscars.

(Stoked that'll keep my phone on for another month haha! Was getting worried there for a minute)

Bat shit, right? No, that's life.

It is one of life's great misconceptions that opportunities are "over there" - this far out land that you hear about, and want to go to, but can never figure out how to get to.

Opportunities are here. They are around you every.single.second. of the day.

I am not a lucky person, I am a prepared person. Luck is opportunity meeting preparation. That is IT! This shit blows my mind that I've been in this town for seven years, always DIED to go to the Oscars, but again, viewed it as being that opportunity somewhere out there. All I had to do was be myself, through and through (unapologetic awesomeness, FTW!). I stopped focusing on the over there, and stayed present on the RIGHT HERE. See my tattoo? My enso?

An enso symbolizes enlightenment, strength, and the universe, and is an "expression of the moment."

Staying present allows the opportunities to present themself to you, versus you actually expelling all of this energy to something out there. The universe just is. We're all one, and we're all interconnected. You have to find what makes you, you, and just BE IT!!! The great part about social media though is that when someone needs you, you're cataloged and people will call upon you. How fucking AWESOME is that! You get to feel personally fulfilled, do all the stuff you want to do anyway, AND your friends are also taking note of what you're doing via your newsfeed and know how to get a-hold of you if they ever need anything from you.

Blows my mind.

Greatest time to be alive.

So yeah! I'll be livestreaming, tweeting, and Facebook mobile uploading from the Oscars. It's like a 4 day event, so there's going to be a lot going on. I should get a calendar of events in a couple days, so stay tuned!

Next up, DRESS!!!
