Does anyone even care about Miss USA?
The blogosphere is apparently "running wild" with stories regarding the new Miss USA. Really, there's a new Miss USA? Had no idea ...Did Pete Cashmore dress up in drag or something?
Do we even still care about beauty pageants? Beauty pageants were just the IRL 1950s version of AmIHotOrNot.com. Seriously ... and I've DONE THEM! I was in Miss CT Teen USA back in the day, and it's so friggen STUPID! These girls are supposed to be "role models" showcasing beauty and brains to little girls all over the country blah blah blah ... sorry, I gagged myself with my own spoon there.
Beauty and brains? Then why the hell are they even entering a beauty pageant? Oh, that's right!! The scholarships!! The platform to promote your charity!! So I can totally be like famous by releasing all those salacious, drunken pictures from Facebook before the privacy settings change again.
You get what I'm saying here? The Donald wants us to believe that he is setting a wonderful example of how women should be ... and all that jazz. Yet, this year he threw them in lingerie and made 'em look like hookers! And the press that last year's Miss USA got, and that Tara whatever her name was - from the year before? Donald is a fame pimp!!! This has NOTHING to do with the initial reasons why these pageants were put into place, and we are only continuing them because they are tradition. It's not tradition, it's just CRAP!! Such a waste of space ... about as irrelevant as its digital predecessor.
