Letter from That Nerdy Chick: Nerds can be hot, cool, sexy, and techie.

A hoi, hoi,

I've gotten a lot of emails, comments, and tweets after all the awesomeness that was yesterday, asking what exactly this site is about. Just wanted to take a minute to explain why you are here ... and need to stay here. (HA!)

I recently attended the #140conf in LA, and I noticed there were all these hot people who were such nerds! Prior to that my LA tech conference hopping was limited to CES when it was in LA in 2006. Mind you at that time, I was working for a Verizon master agent, and had a different set of priorities.
I had the most engaging and amazing conversations with people who were complete nerds, and you never would have known it! It got me thinking ... could there be more? Well you bet your bottom dollar there were!!

I immediately went home, and invested $10 in securing the domain. I wanted to create an outlet for people to be able to talk nerdy and connect with other nerds that they might have had a missed connection with at the W.O.W. conference. I created this page, all the little buttons widgets, yada yada ... anything you like or don't came about by yours truly. I'm not looking for any sort of award or a breast to pin it on, but just wanted you all to understand how powerful passion is. Both this, and the sister Facebook fan page, are all run, created, coded, and edited by me. Keep in mind, I'm not a crazy control freak - quite the contrary! I'd LOVE to have other's input on this site ... However this all started because of a spark I felt inside of me, a void I noticed in our culture.

My ultimate goal with this site is to change the definition of the word nerd. I want people to be able to embrace their inner nerd that is just DYING to get out! Nerds can be hot, cool, sexy, and techie.

Why can't technology be included in the hybrid umbrella?

Any suggestions, questions, or if you're looking to advertise ... feel free to tweet me, Facebook stalk me, or just say hello. Don't forget to visit the Facebook Fan Page if you're looking to connect with other hot nerds.

Thanks guys for letting me share my passion with you. May you all live long and prosper!
